Role

Game Designer | Unreal Developer | VR Developer

My Work

While at Arcadia, I created proprietary tech with which I built the world’s largest free roam, multiplayer XR arena. In our Samos Arena, where athletes run, jump, and dodge obstacles and competitors completely free of cords, cables and limitations. In the first game, Parallels, I designed the game and its levels to be a played at high speed and to be fair to all players regardless of starting position.

Along with the the platform on which Parallels can be played, I created a way for viewers to watch this unique experience. While athletes compete, fans and audiences at home can watch it all with the Helio Cam broadcast which puts them directly inside the game. No headset is required! Fans and audiences can tune in and watch never-before-seen games on their smartphone, tv, and computer anytime, anywhere.

Untethered

The system the team and I created uses the Oculus Quest technology to create a VR experience like no other! Because the Quest is wireless, players can move freely without needing to manage cables. The system also doesn't require the use of additional tracking sensors such as lighthouse towers! This all makes the setup process for games quick, easy, and possible anywhere!

Same Space Multiplayer

Players of Arcadia will all share the same large space while still feeling confident they wont run into each other. One of the main goals of the project was for players to be able to confidently move they're bodies at the same level as any other action sport. The team and I were able to create a calibration system that synchronizes all players so you can literally high five your friends without having to take off your headset!

Large Play Space

Another goal of the project was for players to be able to set up and play in any large space they have available to them. Whether it's a Basketball court, Hockey Arena, or even a parking lot, players are able to calibrate and orientate their play space where ever they are!
